Only two properties now remain for sale at the highly successful Lowarth Sevi development in the village of Ashton near Helston in Cornwall.
Lowarth Sevi – Cornish for Strawberry Gardens – is the latest project from local developer Seack Developments Ltd.
It includes 11 properties with varied ownership options designed to meet Cornwall’s housing needs.
They include 2 one bedroom rental apartments designated as social housing, 2 two bedroom, semi-detached rental properties, and shared ownership properties including 1 two bedroom semi-detached and 1 three bedroom semi-detached.
Other properties already sold since development started in 2019, include 1 two bedroom semi-detached, 1 four bedroom detached, and 1 three/four bedroom detached.
Now only 2 four bedroom detached homes remain to be completed and sold before Christmas. The first has just been completed and is being marketed by agents The Mather Partnership in Helston with a guide price of £795,000.
The final property, which is slightly larger, will come to the market later this year with a guide price of £849,000. Both have detached garages, plus driveway parking.
All the properties have air source heat pumps, except for the two apartments which have solar panels.
Neil Hack, managing director of Seack Developments, said: “As a Helston-based developer, we always aim to work within and with respect to the community where we are building.
“That’s why we have called the development Lowarth Sevi as the locals tell us this was a strawberry field for many years – which would explain the excellent soil quality.
“We are mindful of the real needs of the Cornish housing market, so we were pleased that when we purchased the site, the previous owners and planning officers at Cornwall Council had collaborated to produce a scheme that addressed the overall requirements of the area, but also provided us with a viable project.”
Mr Hack launched Seack in 2014 and works with his business partner James Ivey Mait who has over 20 years’ construction experience and is now the site manager on Lowarth Sevi.
The first development they completed together was eight dwellings in Helston, named Kew Hal An Tow in recognition of Hal An Tow, the annual pageant which takes place as part of the Flora Day celebrations in early May each year to usher in the Summer.
This development delivered eight new built properties, all sold on the open market, which were replacements for dilapidated farm buildings.
Mr Hack added: “Seack is looking for sites where we can develop housing solutions that meet Cornwall’s requirements for a broad mix of property types.
“As a Cornish developer, our aim is to deliver homes that people need and want, and we welcome introductions to possible sites, some of which may have been passed over by many of the mainstream national developers.”
