Walthamstow Stadium Development Sale Completed

Walthamstow Stadium was a well-known Greyhound racing track that closed in 2008. In order to maintain the iconic structure while also delivering 99 new properties. The units in the development include two to four bedroomed house and one to three bedroomed apartments valued between £280,000 and £590,000.

SiteSales, one of the leading residential property sales and development consultants in London and the South East were appointed by London & Quadrant in March 2016 to manage the sales of the properties. It has been announced recently that SiteSales has completed on the sale of the 99 shared ownership units at the stadium. SiteSales has been working with London & Quadrant for more than a decade, after work carried out at Stratford Eye, which is a project that kick-started the evolution programme in Stratford.

The sale of the 99 units demonstrates SiteSales’ focus on marketing housing that originates from a wide range of tenures. SiteSales aim to deliver a range of affordable and high quality properties to suit the requirements of a range of individuals.

The development of Walthamstow Stadium has allowed for the creation of new properties. However, there a number of central features connecting the site back to its heritage as a greyhound racing track, such as the medal podium, old kennels and the well-known stadium sign will be preserved for a number of years to come. This unique development has allowed for the structures around the racing track to remain, maintaining the heritage of the site and keeping the nostalgic Art Deco exterior. This nostalgia hasn’t prevented the developers from creating modern and affordable homes on the site.
