Cavanna Homes Announces a Record Year

The Devon based housebuilder Cavanna Homes, has announced a record £60.8 million turnover in 2017, which represents a 13% increase compared with 2016’s results. The total amount of homes sold in Cavanna’s village, town, and city developments was 239. The new target for 2018 is 310 homes across eight sites.

Last year the company also introduced non-executive part time roles, making three key appointments to the senior management team: Managing Director Keith Miller, Head of Sales and Marketing Beverley Bridge and Head of Commercial Richard Williams. While the business still remains owned by 52 family members, the new team will be responsible for the day to day business operations.

“It’s been a year of succession planning, getting the company in the best shape for its centenary year in 2023 and beyond, while continuing to build high quality homes which sensitively develop our communities here in the South West,” said Cavanna Group Chairman, Jeremy Cavanna.

The company employs 109 staff from its Torquay headquarters and it has approximately 280 contractors working on eight sites across Devon, including 504K in Plymouth, Fusion in Paignton, Primrose Hill in Torquay, Greenspire and Meadow Haze near Exeter, and Market Quarter at Holsworthy.

It also managed to appoint 10 apprentices, which is its highest number so far. Creating stronger links with schools and colleges in the region is one of their future focuses that will promote the diversity of apprenticeships and careers in the construction and homebuilding sectors.

Cavanna Homes was also up for some awards, such as the Building Safety Group’s annual National Awards for health and safety, where the company achieved the second place, the Local Authority Building Control South West awards for its Origins development in Dartington, which was highly commended in the category of Best High Volume New Housing Development, and the 5 Star HBF Award, which they maintained.
