Fencing manufacturing firm Zaun has introduced barcode railings into its range of products for corporate marketing messages or learning experiences for students.

The company has developed the barcode railing system from its standard vertical bar railing range to provide architects and specifiers with the option of delivering messages when the fencing is scanned.

Tablets and mobile phones will be able to reveal the embedded coded messages that are found within the railings, while the product can also be included into sliding and swing gates.

Steve Roberts, Marketing Manager at Zaun, commented: “We see the barcode railing as a fun and ingenious form of differentiation within a practical solution to securing perimeters or demarcating different property areas.

“We can see schools liking the idea of making their learning environment more appealing. And it will work just as well for quirky company branding and residential areas that want to name their developments in a different way.”

Zaun, based in Wolverhampton, already offers colour railings and fencing, through visibility, incorporation of lettering or logos and laser cut steel figures which allow architects to make their perimeter solutions truly unique.

The barcode railings range in height from 0.5 metres to 2.0 metres with bolt down, in ground or cranked installation options.

Railings are galvanised and polyester powder coated in a range of colours. More information on the products can be found by visiting www.Zaun.co.uk.

Meanwhile, the first match played at the new London Stadium on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park heralded potentially the final leg of steel manufacturing for Zaun’s Olympic Stadium relay.

Zaun was the principal 2012 Olympics fencer and has returned to the Olympic Stadium on several occasions, first decommissioning after the 2012 Paralympics, then reconfiguring and removing security fencing for last autumn’s Rugby World Cup.

Zaun has supplied 5m-high security-rated Duo8 SR1 fencing together with gates and spectator railings for this latest revamp, installed by group company Binns Fencing.
