Surge in Demand for Homes at Haughley Development

More than two-thirds of the homes at Bellway’s Eve Meadows development in Haughley have now sold – just a year after the first properties were released onto the market. Buyers have purchased 31 of the 43 houses being built for private sale at the site off Fishponds Way, where Bellway is also delivering 22 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

Construction work on the 65-home development in Haughley began in the summer of 2020, with the first properties going on sale in March last year. The final homes are due to be completed at the end of this year.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director at Bellway Essex, said: “We have a strong reputation for providing high quality homes in Suffolk, with six sites currently under construction across the county.

“Since launching last year, Eve Meadows has proved to be a particularly popular development thanks to its desirable rural setting just two miles from Stowmarket and its convenient location just off the A14 between Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds.

“The mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes have attracted a wide range of people, from first-time buyers to growing families and downsizers. Alongside the homes, we are providing over four acres of public open space with a children’s play area which has also been a big draw for buyers.

“The demand for homes at Eve Meadows has been strong right from the outset, and this has only gained momentum since we opened our showhome to the public last August, with around two-thirds of all reservations being made during the past five months.

“With just 12 homes still to be purchased, I would advise buyers interested in becoming part of the thriving new community forming at Eve Meadows to get in touch with us as soon as possible. Our on-site sales team will be able to arrange a viewing of the showhome and to explain more about the selection of four-bedroom homes that are still available.”

As part of the development, Bellway has provided funding of £764,000 for local services and infrastructure to Mid Suffolk District Council through the Community Infrastructure Levy. The housebuilder has also made financial contributions of £165,120 towards school transport, £10,000 for a traffic regulation order and £4,000 for a public right of way under the planning agreement for the homes.

A selection of four-bedroom homes are currently available at Eve Meadows, with prices starting from £414,995.
