Lovell Continues to Build More Homes

Lovell continues to work on the £250 million scheme on Salisbury Plain in South Wiltshire, part of the Army Basing Programme (ABP) that aims to create more than 900 new homes for troops and their families that are relocating from Germany to Bulford, Larkhill and Ludgershall.

At the moment, Lovell is working on 225 homes at Bulford, where the roads and sewers have substantially progressed, a third of foundations are already laid and work is now starting on the timber frame installations.

“I am really impressed with the speed of delivery and the amount of progress that has been made since the contract was signed in November; we remain firmly on track to deliver the required new homes to enable the units to return from Germany in 2019,” said Mark Duddy, ABP programme director.

Lieutenant General Nick Pope CBE, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, and John Leary, Lovell Major Projects Director, recently unveiled a commemorative plaque at the Bulford site to mark the milestone.

“Our team were delighted to host the event to mark the commencement of superstructure works on the Salisbury Plain Training Area scheme and honoured to welcome Lieutenant General Nick Pope CBE to view progress and unveil our commemorative stone,” said John Leary.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with the Army Basing Programme and our supply chain partners to ensure the timely delivery of these high-quality homes for our Service families,” he concluded.
