Townhouses may be seeing a surge in popularity for those that are looking for a new home. Townhouses are traditionally urban dwellings that have been built to sit over four floors and it is thought that at the moment that they are the best option for buyers wanting to live in urban areas but don’t want to necessarily sacrifice the space.

David Wilson is creating a property development that should do just that with their The Botanics project. This development is set to creat 19 luxurious four bedroomed homes. The plans are for the development situated in Glasgow’s West End will offer prospective urban property buyers large bedrooms as well as intimate snug areas, and modern kitchens. The David Wilson Homes development will be located practically on the doorstep to The Botanic Gardens in Glasgow, hence the name of the development.

Historically, Townhouses were an integral part of the architecture in the Victorian era, David Wilson Homes are taking inspiration from this by creating The Botanics Housing development with a modern twist. The concept of the townhouse has had to receive a few updates in order to make sure that the properties are more energy efficient and can be created to have low maintenance costs. This new development and townhouses in general are being sold as the sensible option for those looking at the property market who want a house that has the potential to be flexible to their family needs in the future. The Botanics is located in the grounds of the former BBC Scotland and will become a part of a very design conscious community which looks out over the River Kelvin and, as previously mentioned, the Botanic Gardens.

There are two types of townhouses currently available as part of the David Wilson Project. The first style is a mid terraced town house that has four bedrooms and a kitchen/dining room with a large living room and double garage. The stand out feature of these houses is the second living space, shown in some designs as a cinema room. The properties also offer four en-suites and three terraces. The second style are also mid terraced and four bed properties with en-suite facilities and a family or dining area as well as living room. These properties also have the added luxury of dressing rooms. Both of these properties are available for the fixed price of £899,000.
