L&Q is set to release its final collection of houses at its ever-popular Chelmsford development, The Arbour, on Saturday 21st September. The last opportunity to buy a house at the thriving development, the launch will see a collection of two- and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached properties. Later this year and beyond, one- and two-bedroom apartments will be available.

The new houses will be available exclusively through Shared Ownership, with prices starting from just £120,000 for a 30% share of a two-bedroom terraced house. Over the last year, the average first time buyer paid nearly three times this for a similar property on the open market in Chelmsford – with the average sale price sitting at £356,152*. Offering a genuinely affordable route onto the property ladder in a desirable location, new Shared Ownership homes at The Arbour have already proven extremely popular, with the development over 75% sold to date.

The Arbour forms part of the wider award-winning Beaulieu neighbourhood, a joint venture between L&Q and Countryside, bringing 3,600 new homes to the Essex city. The development incorporates landscaped green spaces, play areas, a dedicated bus service, an all-through school and a number of impressive on-site amenities, including independently run café Coffee Squared, a community centre and convenience store.

Claire Brenlund, Sales and Marketing Director at L&Q, comments, “The Arbour has always been an extremely popular development since first launching in 2021, and we’re expecting to see considerable demand for this final collection of houses. With its well-established community, green spaces, education facilities and excellent transport links, it’s easy to see why buyers are drawn to this development. The Arbour is reflective of L&Q’s commitment not only to delivering housing, but to creating successful neighbourhoods and communities.”

Designed to a modern specification, homes at The Arbour feature a white paint finish to all walls and ceilings – providing the perfect blank canvas for any new homeowner. Kitchens are equipped with integrated appliances, including an oven, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine, and feature under cupboard LED lighting for a sleek finish. Bathrooms and ensuites are fitted out with modern white sanitaryware, chrome ladder towel radiators and chrome dual flush plate for water efficiency. Bedrooms, stairs and upstairs landings are finished with carpet. Each house also benefits from access to a private garden, complete with a shed, turf, paving, and an outdoor tap, along with allocated parking and cycle storage.

Close to several well-rated schools, including The Beaulieu Park School, Essex’s first all-through school, where the primary provision has recently expanded to double its capacity to 840 students, the development offers notable convenience for parents.

With fast bus routes to Chelmsford city centre direct from Beaulieu, residents can easily access a variety of shops and restaurants. The Bond Street Chelmsford shopping and leisure centre, located along the riverside, serves as a hub for shoppers and foodies alike, hosting brands like John Lewis, JoJo Maman Bébé and an Everyman Cinema.

With Beaulieu’s very own bus service, which residents can use free-of-charge for one year, commuting from The Arbour is made easy. For added convenience, the bus timetable aligns with Chelmsford Railway services, allowing commuters to reach London Liverpool Street in under an hour. For those travelling by car, the new Beaulieu Parkway Bridge is now open, which runs from the A12 at the Boreham interchange to the Beaulieu development, connecting residents to Ipswich and south to London. Further enhancing travel connections, a dedicated train station is planned on-site and scheduled for completion in the coming years.
