New Homes Development in Devizes Reaches Key Milestone

More than half of the new homes at a new housing development taking shape in Devizes have now been built. Bellway has completed work on 65 of the 123 homes being built at Quakers Walk in the town, with a new selection of properties just released for sale to meet demand.

The scheme will deliver 86 homes for private sale and 37 affordable properties available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

The popularity of the Devizes development, which enjoys a picturesque location on the edge of the Wiltshire countryside yet within easy reach of the town centre, has meant that nearly three-quarters of the private homes have already been snapped up.

“We have now passed the halfway milestone for construction at Quakers Walk and we’re working towards finishing work on site here by the end of the year. The development has been a particularly attractive option for first-time buyers, with a choice of two and three-bedroom properties falling within the Help to Buy price cap of £349,000 for the South West – and we still have one three-bedroom home available to reserve under this limit,” said Sales Manager for Bellway South West, Christel Hawkins.

“The remaining homes for sale are a choice of spacious three and four-bedroom designs, with eight homes yet to be released. These include the luxurious Wroughton showhome, which is still available to view each day.”

Help to Buy allows first-time buyers to buy a new-build home within the price cap for the region with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of a Government-backed equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years.
