Newfoundland Diagnostics has launched an at-home rapid HIV test in Tesco across the nation, marking the first time an HIV self-test has been readily available on supermarket shelves.
Providing results in 15 minutes with >99% accuracy, the launch is a significant milestone in providing accessible and discreet at-home health testing in the UK.
The test’s supermarket launch follows findings that straight Brits are at risk as nearly 4 in 5 (78%) don’t believe heterosexual partners are most likely to be HIV+, despite recent UK Health Security Agency (HSA) data indicating a shift in new diagnoses, with higher rates among heterosexual individuals for the first time in a decade.
