Glenn Howells Architects Director, Dav Bansal, believes that the property sector in the West Midlands is being boosted by the region’s global reputation for business and cultural diversity.
Bansal stated that the combination of lower costs and a rich cosmopolitan culture gave the region a significant edge over other areas of the UK.
He was speaking ahead of this year’s West Midlands Property Awards which will take place on November 17, for which he is a judge.
Bansal said that they have a region with significantly improved transport connections than ever before along with being globally recognised as the best city in the UK in terms of many business and cultural aspects.
He continued: “Modern, smart businesses can now promote better quality of life and diverse career opportunities to differentiate from London counterparts. Coupled with lower operational costs and a larger pool of skillsets, this region undoubtedly offers an attractive alternative to the capital.”
He also said that the West Midlands Property Awards are a celebration of these achievements and “a credible platform to showcase their success.”
Bansal is part of a judging panel of eight experts who will decide the winners of the 11 categories.
Entries are now open for the following awards: Architects Practice of the Year; Commercial Developer of the Year; Construction Project of the Year; Industrial Agency Team of the Year; Office Agency Team of the Year; Project Management Team of the Year; Property Deal of the Year; Property Law Firm of the Year; Regeneration Project of the Year; Sustainability Award.
Earlier in the month, Birmingham City Council gave the green light for construction to begin on a 25 storey hotel, which was designed by Glenn Howells Architects.
