DWS Legal to Create New Jobs Following £300k New Office Investment

Law firm DWS Legal is planning to create 12 new jobs as part of its growth plans after a £300,000 investment in relocating to new city offices on the site of the former Bank of Scotland building next door to its offices in Friar Lane.

The new 2,500 sq ft site has been specially designed to house its 30 staff and allow for further expansion.

The move is part of an ambitious expansion project that has recently seen the firm rebrand itself with a new name, brand identity and logo. It was formerly known as Douglas Wemyss Solicitors.

CEO of DWS Legal, Sameer Karim, said the investment showed the company’s commitment to the city and clients throughout the region. The firm also has an office in London.

Karim continued: “We are delighted to finally move into our new home and we are already seeing a more productive working environment.

“It is a significant investment we have made but it was important for us to show how committed we are to Leicester, our clients and for the future development of our staff.

“We’ve been making tremendous progress towards becoming the number one law firm in each of our core business areas and we now have an office that reflects these targets and supports an exciting time of growth.”

The new workplace has been designed with bright and bold colours to reflect the new branding. It includes themed meeting rooms and sleek, modern breakout working spaces for its lawyers. A central atrium area will allow for natural light to flood into the office.

Mr Karim said staff had been very supportive during the move. The workforce had grown from 22 last year to 30 now, and he hoped to hit 45 by next March.

He said much of the expansion was down to residential and commercial property work coming back to Leicester from the London office.
