HRS Services Help to Install Christmas Lights at Sheffield Children’s Hospital

HRS Services, the Inspection and Maintenance specialists have been working to make Christmas come early in Sheffield. The company donated their time and staff on the 18th of November in order to help out at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in order to attach this year’s festive lights to the outside of the hospital building.

While this work was carried out, the staff from HRS donned a range of costumes, from festive to superhero in order to bring a smile to the faces of the patients and their families as well as any locals nearby. James Rhodes, Rich Hunt and Colin Harden, better known as Father Christmas, Elf and Spiderman put their abseiling skills to use in order to install the Christmas lights at the hospital. Supporting the famous trio were their colleagues, Jon Fullwood, Chris Whitehead, Rebecca Oxley and Andreea Bertea.

HRS Services spent the 18th November fitting the snowflake lights on the roof of the hospital and lowering lights over the edge of the building by their specially trained access staff, before being fixed securely into place and deliver some festive cheer. The snowflakes that have been installed to the exterior of the hospital are individually sponsored by local charities, and helped to raise more than £100,000 last year for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity. The charity is on course to beat this figure this year, which is excellent news. There are more than 140 snowflakes that will light up the hospital and this year there is a dedicated area for schools who are wanting to sponsor a snowflake. The money raised will be put towards buying life-saving equipment, vital research and making sure that the hospital is a comfortable place for patients and their parents.
