Galliford Try signs build deal for Birmingham Conservatoire

Housebuilding and construction group, Galliford Try has signed contracts with Birmingham City University to build the new £46 million Conservatoire in central Birmingham, which will house teaching facilities and a 500-seat auditorium as well as two additional performance spaces.

Designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, the new landmark building will move the Conservatoire from its existing home to the Eastside area of the city centre, adjacent to the university’s Parkside building.

Greg Fitzgerald, Galliford Try’s executive chairman, commented:

“We are delighted to be involved in such a high-profile and significant project for both Birmingham and the surrounding area. We look forward to working with Birmingham City University and the design team to produce a world-class musical facility for both the students and the wider community.”
