The Yorkshire division of Bellway Homes is celebrating the success of two of its site managers after they were awarded National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job awards for the exceptional standard of work they’ve done on developments in Brough, Pocklington and Snaith.

Karl Laverick worked on Bellway’s Amblers Grange development in his childhood home town of Pocklington up until work finished on the site earlier in the year and has since been senior site manager at Penny Way in Snaith. This is the third Quality Award he’s received in as many years and he’s now in the running for a Seal of Excellence, which he was last awarded in 2023.

Dave Turner is the senior site manager at Palmer’s Grange in Brough – which is part of the £200million Brough South development that is transforming land on the banks of the Humber into a thriving new community featuring 750 new homes, a brand-new primary school, an Aldi supermarket, office, retail and leisure facilities, and a new relief road. This is the second time he’s won a Pride in the Job award, having previously been recognised while working on Tranby Park, Anlaby.

Jim Brooks, Bellway Yorkshire’s managing director, said: “We pride ourselves on the quality of homes we build and communities we create, but none of that’s possible without the hard work and talent of our construction teams – transforming plans into buyers’ dream homes.”

“While Karl and Dave have rightly been recognised amongst the top two per cent of the UK’s site managers by the NHBC this year, they’d both be the first to say that it’s the people they work with day in, day out who ensure their sites operate to such exceptional standards. And it’s that kind of teamwork that really does make Bellway and the homes we build so popular across the UK.”

The NHBC run awards scheme is the only UK-wide competition in the housebuilding industry to recognise site managers who deliver to the highest possible standard. Of the 8,000 site managers entered, only 444 receive the first stage Pride in the Job Quality Award, with less than a quarter going on to be given the Seal of Excellence.

Bellway is currently building on eight developments in Yorkshire – with new homes for sales in Beverley, Brough, Driffield, Kirk Ella, Skelton, Skipton, and Snaith.
