The Midlands is benefitting from continual investor confidence in property and development. In order to make the most of this economic growth and contribute to the long-term future growth of the region, Stephen George + Partners are relocating to larger, permanent office space at the Longbridge Technology Park.
The larger offices are not just necessary in order to help them make the most of the growth in the Midlands, but also as a result of a recent merger with MKguru Architect Ltd, another Birmingham architect firm. Stephen George + Partners are looking to develop their BIM capabilities across all sectors in order to ensure that they will be able to deliver computer-aided expertise while managing projects for their clients. As well as the merger and relocation, Stephen George + Partners have also appointed a new Project Architect.
Juma Chipeta is joining the company from Walker Troup Architects and has 25 years of experience working in a consulting practice. Juma has a wealth of experience and knowledge with computer-aided design as well as Business Information Modelling, or BIM and will be an asset to the Birmingham practice. Juma has worked on a number of large projects, such as the 150-home scheme that was completed on the site of the former Armitage Shanks Tap Works located in Wolverhampton. In his new role, Juma will be expected to have a hands on role while meeting the requirements to the architectural firm’s clients while also overseeing the work taken on by the Birmingham office to boost their BIM capability.
As part of their focus on contributing to the economic growth of the Midlands region, Stephen George + Partners has also submitted planning applications for two new schemes in the region of their Birmingham Practice. The first application is for four luxury design-led homes situates off Torrs Close in Redditch to be completed for South Crest Nursing Homes, and the second is a proposed extension and refurbishment project to be carried out for the Westworld Care Home, Burton Joyce in Nottingham. The refurbishment and expansion, if approved, will see the Care Home upgraded to a Centre of Excellence for Dementia Care.
