Mactaggart & Mickel Homes Expand in to England

The award-winning Scottish housebuilding company Mactaggart & Mickel Homes, a part of the Mactaggart & Mickel Group has made progress with their business plan to expand into the English property development market.

The company have lodged reserved matters planning permission for their first English site at Milton under Wychwood in Whitney, Oxfordshire, and it is expected that there will soon be another detailed application submitted at a second Oxfordshire site, in East Challow.

The five-star HBF rated housebuilder is a fourth-generation family business who has been creating homes since 1925. Mactaggart & Mickel has also won more than 100 National House Building Council award, a reflection of the quality of their work. The company are looking forward to expanding their operations into the English markets. The planned properties will be finished to a high quality and will also blend into the local area.

Their move into the English house building market has taken a significant step forward with this submission of planning applications and will move forward the company’s ambitions to widen their geographical reach. Mactaggart & Mickel Homes want to create high quality homes for a UK wide audience.

The housing development planned in Milton under Wychwood has outline planning consent for 62 new homes, with detailed planning application is expected to be submitted at some point in the late autumn.

The East Challow development has outline planning consent to create 38 new homes. This development will be the company’s second site in England and a decision in regards to the planning application is expected late in the autumn. This proposed development will include private and affordable homes, with 25 two to five bedroomed private homes and 13 one to three bedroom affordable homes.

The developments, when approved will use local and national suppliers in order to deliver high quality homes, an economic boost and a range of employment opportunities.
