Crosslane Student Developments is a part of the Crosslane Group and has announced that they have completed their latest development project. The most recent student development completed by the company is The Old Printworks in Edinburgh. The new student accommodation has been completed in time for the 2017/18 academic year.

The student accommodation development was constructed and completed by Crosslane Student Developments on behalf of the Unite Group. The total value of this newly finished development has been estimated to be £31 million. The development has also been let for the 2017/18 academic year.

The Old Printworks is a development located in the centre of Edinburgh and is only a short walk from the University of Edinburgh campus. The accommodation is also close to the historical attraction, The Royal Mile. The work first started in January 2016, with a successful topping out ceremony being carried out in March of this year. The new accommodation development is purpose-built and has been finished to a high specification. The city centre scheme consists of 44 studio apartments and 193 beds as part of clusters of between three and nine flats spread out over 5 storeys. The students staying at this accommodation can enjoy a variety of high quality communal facilities such as a common room, meeting space, laundry facilities, a gym and access to bike storage. The contractors for this development were Ogilvie Construction.

Crosslane has also managed to secure planning permission for an 83 bed purpose built student accommodation development that will be located on Carlton Road. This project is close to Holyrood Park, which is known for being one of the city’s beauty spots. This development will deliver more high specification studio accommodation for students close to some of Edinburgh’s most popular attractions such as Arthur’s Seat, Salisbury Crags and St Anthony’s Chapel.
