Countryside Give Presentation to School Near to Chesterwell Development

Countryside, the leading UK home builder has been getting involved with UK Construction Week. The company has visited The Gilberd School in Colchester in order to give an interactive talk to two groups of Year 10 Resistant Materials GCSE students. The talk took place at the start of UK Construction Week on Monday the 9th October.

The students benefitted from the insight of Senior Project Manager, Ian Ritchie at the Beaulieu development which is located in Chelmsford, and Daniel Hearn, a former Graduate from Countryside and now Marketing Co-ordinator. The students learnt about the different jobs and roles on offer in the construction industry and the talks were a great opportunity for the Resistant Materials students to ask questions about what skills are required while having the chance to ask any question they may have about the industry.

The Managing Director for Countryside’s New Homes and Communities Eastern Region, Chris Bladon, has said that UK Construction Week has been the perfect opportunity to educate the younger generation about the construction industry and the excellent opportunities on offer. Hopefully, more companies getting involved and educating about the different roles in the construction industry to younger audiences will help to attract more people to consider a career in the construction industry and prevent the skills deficit from getting any worse in years to come.

It is hoped that the presentation that was given at The Gilberd School will inspire a group of students already inclined to construction through their choice of Resistant Materials GCSE. The presentations were an excellent experience for the students and gave them a chance to meet people working in the industry.

The newest community in the area will be located minutes away from the town centre and the train station. The development in Chesterwell offers a mix of two, three and four-bedroom house as well as two bedroom apartments. The properties on the development appear to be in a high level of demand.
