The company is also the number one professional tool manufacturing company in Britain. Makita has been operating in the UK for 45 years and an inventory of more than 620 products and accessories.

The toll manufacturer has recently announced the release of a new cordless and brushless LXT Router/Trimmer. The new tool will be the first on the market that can combine each of the vital components of both tools in one lightweight and sturdy piece of equipment. There has been a range of different options released for this tool in order to make is compatible for a wide range of uses.

The Router/Trimmer is low energy but high performance. The brushless motors on the tool have a variable speed of between 10,000rpm and 30,000 rpm. The cordless tool also has a constant speed control option. The new Makita DRT50 has a variety of different options available to allow a range of uses. These options include trimmer, plunge, tilt and offset bases. The tool is available in ⅜” and a ¼” collet sizes and has a spindle lock and dust extraction nozzle as standard.

The battery used to power the Router/Trimmer is a Makita 18v Lithium-ion battery which has already been established by the company. This battery is mounted on to the top of the machine in order to offer the user perfect balance and control. The DRT50 is just 2.1 kg, with the housing made from aluminium attributing to the machine’s light weight. In order to ensure improved operator comfort there is a body grip installed from non-slip elastomer. This new router and trimmer will be an ideal addition to a toolbox as a perfect portable combination of two tools.
