Sustainable Homes has launched the 10th edition of the SHIFT Awards, the only awards celebrating sustainability in housing and the supply chain. Over the last ten years, the event has grown from an accreditation ceremony celebrating sustainability performance and SHIFT accredited landlords to a well-established sector wide event.

Remarkable projects, organisations and individuals in the housing sector and the supply chain have been present at the event during the years and have demonstrated outstanding performance and commitment to being more sustainable.

The finalists of the 2017 edition represented the very best in the sector, from successful partnership projects, such as the LEAP project, which was the winner of the Best Resident Engagement in Sustainable Living award, to a cutting edge green roofs programme, The Behaviouralist, the winner of the Best Climate Resilience Project award, to Europe’s largest Passivhaus scheme, emg Group, the winner of the Best New Build Project award.

“It’s exciting to see how far the SHIFT Awards have come and that there still is willingness to outperform in terms of sustainability and deliver high quality homes that are future-proof and have resident wellbeing at heart,” said Bevan Jones, Sustainable Homes’ managing director. “We feel the pace is changing in the sector and I can’t wait to see this year’s entries and finalists. It’s going to be a tremendous event!”

The SHIFT Awards recognise the achievements of individuals, teams, projects and campaigns across eight different categories. This year will see the return of the popular Dragons’ Den category, giving shortlisted entrants the chance to pitch creative sustainability ideal to the Awards audience. This year’s edition will take place on the 8th of November at The Brewery in London.
