Permission has been given for up to 250 new homes in Derby. A deal was made by Innes England, a leading commercial property agency based in the Midlands. Innes has offices in Derby, Nottingham and Leicester and manages the sales, lettings, investments, disposals and acquisitions of any type of commercial property.

Innes England agreed to terms on a site that is located near Mansfield Road in Oakwood. The site is 25 acres is site and is the location for the planned new houses. The commercial property agent has agreed terms with the house builder Persimmon Homes. The Mansfield Road site is located three miles out of the city centre, and has been awarded with outline planning consent that would see up to 250 homes built. The development site is in a popular suburb, Oakwood, that sits on the outskirts of Derby City centre. Oakwood has local amenities too that include shops, good primary schools and a leisure centre that makes it a popular place to live. The new dwellings should allow more people to choose Oakwood to live. The suburb is close enough to allow easy movement to the city, while also being near to open countryside, allowing residents to have the best of both worlds. Oakwood is also near to Breadsall Priory and Morley Hayes

Persimmon Homes will start work at the site after all the required consents have been obtained. The house builders will then complete a scheme of work that will deliver a number of two, three and four bedroomed homes. Persimmon Homes are well known for their ability to deliver houses, and the company has been working in the Derbyshire area for a number of years.

The landowners are now looking forward and seeking planning permission for a second phase of the development which will take place on a 16-acre site.
