Glass and Glazing Federation Announced That the President of the Federation has Resigned

The Glass and Glazing Federation, the largest trade association in the glass supply and glazing industry. The trade association also works to advise anyone,whether that is homeowners or professionals, with unbiased information about the UK glass and glazing industry. The Federation announced yesterday that the President of the Federation has resigned. The resignation took place with immediate effect. Alan Burgess has been a art of the trade association for over 20 years, and has said that he is unable to complete his full term as President.

The Glass and Glazing Federation represent more than 60% of the industry’s turnover, reflection how significant they are in the glazing industry. Alan Burgess has worked within the trade association after following more than 20 years of service and two Board positions. As well as being appointed as President of the Federation, Alan Burgess has been the Home Improvement Executive on the Board and the Chair of the GGF Window and Door Group. It’s unfortunate for Alan and for the Federation that he is unable to complete his term as President and has had to resign with immediate effect.

At the same time as the news was released of Alan’s resignation, The Glass and Glazing Federation has announced that they have appointed John Agnew to replace Alan as President with immediate effect.John Agnew works for Independant Glass and was previously the Vice President of the Federation under Alan Burgess and no doubt has the necessary knowledge and experience to be able to carry out this role successfully.

John has expressed his thanks on behalf of the Glass and Glazing Federation for all of Alan Burgess’ contributions throughout his career and has also expressed his own commitment to his new role as President and working to support and represent all of the Glass and Glazing Federation members.
