Hampton Court Palace Flower Show Started Successfully

The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show has started successfully for The British Association of Landscape Industries. The Association and its members have done well at the start of the flower show with the awarding of two Gold medals and three Silver-Gilts that have been given to the Registered Designer and Contractor members of BALI for their show and world changing garden ideas.

Attending the planned tour of the show by the All-Party Parliamentary Gardening and Horticulture Group was the Chief Executive of BALI, Wayne Grills. The tour offered an in-depth presentation of the RHS’ and BALI’s GoLandscape’s Watch this Space Feature Garden. Also in attendance for the visit was Baroness Fookes, the Co-Chairman and George Eustice MP for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The Watch this Space Garden has been designed this year by the BALI Registered Designer Andy Sturgeon MBALI. The work required to build the garden was carried out by the BALI Registered Contractor David Dodd of the Outdoor Room. Also involved in the garden construction was 25 students and apprentices from a wide range of locations in the UK as part of the BALI GoLandscape’s careers initiative. The Watch this Space Garden has been constructed by using recycled and reused RHS Chelsea and RHS Chatsworth materials for the creation of the interconnecting gardens.

In other parts of the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was the Adam White MBALI, another BALI Registered Designer who worked with the registered contractor Gerald Davies Ltd and has managed to pick up a Gold medal for the Best Show & World Garden category. The Zoflora and Caudwell Children’s Wild Garden that was given the award is a tranquil, woodland  inspired space that amazed the judges with its focus on access for those with disabilities. The second Gold Medal from the flower show was given to Landform Consultants for the It’s All about Community Garden. This garden aso won the Best Construction award.
