There has been a £5 million renovation of the landmark buildings around St Mary’s Church located in the center of the Creative Quarter in Nottingham. These buildings have been developed in to apartments. The rental for the first eight apartments in this redevelopment have been released. Perrymead Estates are the developers on this and other upcoming projects.

The developer purchased 3 to 4 Kayes Walk in 2015 and has worked over the past 18 months converting the Grade 2 listed Georgian townhouses. These buildings have been made into luxury residences. The buildings also share a courtyard with what was once the Lizard Lounge nightclub, located at 41 to 43 St Mary’s Gate. The development company acquires these premises at the same time as the Kayes Walk. These other properties will be converted into what will be called The Garage Studios, which will consist of eight office studios.

There will also be a third phase of redevelopment, taking place in Sutton Place. This building is a six-storey former lace workshop which looks out onto St Mary’s Church. Located at 49 Stoney Street, the development proposed is 21 more luxury apartments. The Nottingham Based developer is currently only in the application stages of this third phase.

Over the past few years, the Lacemarket and Creative Quarter has experienced a change. Some nightclub operators are moving out of the area, and that has allowed save for more creative businesses to move in. The appeal of this area is the quality of the built environment and the location is also in close proximity to the busy cultural and entertainment venues located in nearby Hockley.

Management of all the properties in this three phase development will be handled by Perrymead’s in house team in order to maintain responsiveness in the properties. Viewings for the first set of apartments are now taking place. There will also be open evenings on the 30th March from 5pm. Rents on these properties are set to start from £1,200.
