The National Homebuilding & Renovating Show returns to support home building

Since October 2017 more than 33,000 people have signed up to the Right to Build register, which means that at least half of the demands will have to be authorised in the next two years. In order to support the people who want to build homes in the Midlands, The National Homebuilding & Renovating Show will return to the NEC, Birmingham from 22-25 March. Visitors will benefit from more than 500 exhibitors and 16 free daily seminars and masterclasses.

The event will provide advice and guidance for those facing dilemmas in their self-build/renovation experience, discussing real case studies. Visitors can book consultations with celebrity experts, including Charlie Luxton, the architectural designer and presenter of Channel 4’s ‘Best Laid Plans’, and Julia Kendell, interior designer expert for BBC’s ‘DIY SOS The Build’ and ITV’s ’60 Minute Makeover’.

The Advice Centre will hold three zones: Ask the Builder, Ask the Architect, and Ask the Expert. It will offer one-on-one impartial guidance for those who are interested in running ideas past property specialists.

Ask the Expert zone will provide 15-minute consultations via interactive sessions with some of UK’S property specialists: Michael Holmes and Jason Orme from Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, Mariana Pedroso, interior designer and architect, and many more.

Oakwrights Design Consultation and The Potton Lounge will also be giving free consultations with members of their design teams. As a bonus, they will also help visitors envision, create, and deliver their own custom-made new home from scratch.

For those interested in the event there is also an app available on Android and iPhone. The app will help those visiting the centre with scheduling and sending alerts for seminars and masterclasses. They will also be able to see the list of the specialists attending the event and can access the latest offers and travel information.
