AWARD-WINNING flexi-job apprenticeship service EN:Able Futures CIC has been acquired by established social enterprise Moore Networking to create a powerhouse of apprenticeship support in the built environment.

This transition will build on the nearly 600 apprentices employed to date by EN:Able Futures. Moore Networking is committed to maintaining and growing the flexi-job apprenticeship offer provided by EN:Able Futures, allowing employers across the property and construction industry to take on apprentices for either the full duration or part duration of their training. This service will continue to grow and flourish in the ownership of an entity dedicated to apprenticeships and skills.

The move will see Moore Networking operate as the parent company of EN:Able Futures, which was part of Efficiency North Holdings and has been an established shared apprenticeship service since 2013.

The government recently announced a renewed focus on plans for foundation apprenticeships and the growth and skills levy, after insights revealed 35,000 jobs in the sector that can’t be filled due to the skills crisis. Having project managed the TrAC shared apprenticeship service in the East of England and Home Counties for the last 13 years, which offers multiple placements to each apprentice, Moore Networking is well-placed to take EN:Able Futures on this next phase of growth in line with government priorities.

Moore Networking’s connections with industry stakeholders like the Department of Education, Department for Work and Pensions and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) will strengthen the delivery of new and emerging plans from central government and, in turn, the built environment sector.

Lee Parkinson, chief executive of Efficiency North, said: “I am immensely proud of the achievements of EN:Able Futures and I look forward to seeing the company’s continued growth and success under the ownership of Moore Networking Limited.

“From the outset we’ve been dedicated to ensuring the organisation taking on EN:Able Futures shares our values and has a demonstrable record in the apprenticeships and training sector, which Moore Networking confidently does. Our existing relationship with the team has supported a successful transition, alongside EN:Able Future’s high-quality care for the apprentices during this time.

“EN:Able Futures will continue to be close partners of our procurement arm, EN:Procure, in the delivery of apprenticeships as an integral part of our Gen-4 Framework’s social value strategy and any other opportunities we can collaborate on to build communities in the North of England.”

Moore Networking Limited and EN:Able Futures have previously worked together as founding partners of the Built Environment Shared Apprenticeship Service, establishing a strong working relationship. This acquisition has been created through the purchase of shares and Efficiency North will continue to focus on its core procurement, commercial management and social value offering.

Paul Wright, director at Moore Networking Limited, said: “EN:Able Futures has done a great job of developing a successful shared apprenticeship service. Moore Networking is looking forward to continuing this excellent and much needed work and collaborating with EN:Procure to do so. Moore Networking has decades of experience in the successful delivery of skills and apprenticeship programmes and we are looking forward to working in partnership with the team to continue to grow and develop the services they offer”.
