The 2024 autumn home buying market is off to a busy start. With summer over, children back to school, a new government and the Base Rate cut in August, many people are experiencing an increased appetite for a new home, with the number of home sales up by 27% compared to this same period last year.

Helping first time buyers step onto the property ladder in the southeast of the capital this autumn, L&Q is offering a new collection of two- and three-bedroom Shared Ownership homes at Addiscombe Oaks, Croydon. Supporting buyers further, the leading developer is offering a £500 Ikea voucher to customers who reserve here before 13th October, as well as up to £4,000 towards buying costs.

An opportunity to tour the available homes and development, L&Q is hosting a viewing day event at Addiscombe Oaks on Saturday 5th October, between 10am and 5pm. Guests can speak to the sales team, learn more about the scheme and the Shared Ownership offering there whilst enjoying complimentary refreshments from a local bakery.

Claire Brenlund, Sales and Marketing Director at L&Q comments, “We have seen an uplift in enquires at Addiscombe Oaks in recent weeks. The busy period of summer is over, and home seekers are keen to move into a new home before Christmas.

“The upcoming October viewing day at Addiscombe Oaks will provide a great chance for budding buyers to explore their home buying options with us. What’s more, the autumn incentive of help towards buying costs and a £500 Ikea voucher provides a much needed helping hand to first time buyers.”

Meeting the needs of various homebuyers, apartments at Addiscombe Oaks feature spacious, open plan designs and a variety of floorplans. Kitchens are equipped with fully integrated appliances, sleek cabinets and soft close doors, whilst bathrooms include fixtures which are modern, functional and stylish. A sought-after feature for homes in the capital, each apartment comes with at least one private balcony or terrace – perfect for extending living space outside. A video door entry system provides extra convenience and security, and bicycle storage is available for every home. Residents also have access to a gated communal garden, which includes a children’s playground.

The development is conveniently located for both young professionals and families looking to settle in a thriving London neighbourhood. Croydon High Street is a ten-minute walk away from homes at Addiscombe Oaks, offering a variety of amenities, including independent bars, popular restaurants and BOXPARK. For those seeking green space in the capital, Park Hill, Lloyd Park, Wandle Park, the Queen’s Gardens and South Norwood Country Park are all within easy reach. A number of highly rated primary and secondary schools are in the area too, including Carew Academy, Chestnut Park Primary School and the esteemed performing and creative arts school, The Brit School.

Situated just moments from East Croydon Station, Addiscombe Oaks benefits from an impressive array of local transport links. One of the busiest public transport interchanges in the UK, East Croydon Station offers regular and speedy services into London Victoria and London Bridge, connecting locals to London Underground lines. Services to Gatwick Airport and Brighton also run frequently, whilst both tram and bus routes offer further connectivity across the capital and beyond.
