A thriving café, bar and restaurant on one of Coventry’s trendiest high streets is for sale as a healthy going concern with leading commercial property agency Bromwich Hardy.

Millsy’s Café Bar at 20 Earlsdon Street has become one of the city’s most popular upmarket venues for evening drinks, also offering breakfast, lunch and evening menus, plus live music at the weekends.

Established since 2000, the business is in the heart of Earlsdon, a vibrant suburb just one mile south-west of Coventry city centre that hosts a range of cafés, bars and restaurants.

Tom Bromwich, managing partner of Bromwich Hardy, explained that the “thriving business” had come onto the market due to its current owners wishing to retire.

Mr Bromwich said: “Millsy’s is a rare freehold property and trading business that we are excited to be offering to the market as a healthy going concern.

“The venue is in a superb location and has become very well known in Coventry and beyond over the last 25 years.

“The business has been proudly owned and operated by the same local owners since the year 2000 and has a well-earned reputation as a cornerstone of the Earlsdon community.

“Over the years it has become a go-to, upmarket destination for food and drinks, serving a wide-ranging menu including breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, as well becoming famous for its live music.

“Millsy’s has built its success on a foundation of consistency, quality and trust, and it continues to thrive as a reliable and cherished venue for residents and visitors alike.”

Mr Bromwich highlighted how Coventry’s food and drink industry had become one of the fastest-growing in the UK.

Between 2013 and 2015, the city’s restaurant sector saw an impressive 192% increase in turnover, soaring from £63.9 million to £186.6 million and outpacing all major UK cities.

The café culture has also flourished, with the number of coffee shops nearly doubling from 45 in 2010 to 85 in 2018.

Mr Bromwich added: “With an ever-growing culinary scene, parts of Coventry are fast becoming must-visit destinations for food lovers.

“Whether you’re seeking fine dining, independent cafés or vibrant street food, Earlsdon is serving up something for everyone, and Millsy’s Café Bar is very much a part of that scene.”

The total space at Millsy’s extends to 5,726 sq ft and includes 2,691 sq ft on the ground floor, another 2,176 sq ft on the first floor and 861 sq ft in the cellar.

Earlsdon is easily accessible via several main roads, with ample on-street parking and car parks just a short walk from Millsy’s Cafe Bar, with main bus routes nearby and a taxi rank adjacent to the property.

Other local amenities include Earlsdon Library, one of the largest libraries outside of Coventry city centre, and the Criterion Theatre, which hosts year-round cultural events and performances.

Earlsdon is also home to various sports facilities, including rugby, golf, and tennis clubs.

The price of Millsy’s is available on application and the sale will be treated as a Transfer of a Going Concern, with the stock available at valuation.

The property can be viewed here and anyone interested can find out more by contacting Mr Bromwich at tom.bromwich@bromwichhardy.com or Mark Booth at mark.booth@bromwichhardy.com.
