Karaca, a venerable brand with a 50-year heritage, has launched its second UK store at Westfield London, the largest shopping mall in Europe. This follows the successful establishment of its first UK store in Islington Square, a renowned shopping destination in the British capital.

Karaca, esteemed in the Turkish home and lifestyle arena for five decades, proudly announces the opening of its second UK outlet in Westfield London, the biggest shopping centre in Europe. This development is a pivotal step in Karaca’s international growth plan, building on the success of its debut store in London’s Islington Square.

Established in 1973, Karaca has become a household name in Türkiye, acclaimed for its vast range of over 28,000 products. The brand has transformed the home and lifestyle industry with its inventive and superior-quality products, spanning kitchen necessities, tableware, compact domestic appliances, and sophisticated home accessories. Notably, its Fine Pearl Collection, the world’s first and sole dinner set crafted from real pearls, stands as a testament to Karaca’s dedication to superb design and craftsmanship.

Commencement of Global Market Expansion through Strategic UK Investment

Karaca’s international footprint covers 48 countries with 305 stores and in excess of 2,000 sales outlets, evidencing its lasting legacy and popularity. The expansion into the UK is a strategic endeavour to reinforce its position as a global market leader.

Cihangir Çetintırnak, Country Director of Karaca UK, stated, “After a solid history of 50 years, our vision is to establish ourselves as one of the top three brands in our category not just in Europe and America, but across the world. The opening of our second store in Westfield London, is a crucial milestone in achieving our 2030 vision. Following the success of our Islington Square store and our growing presence in the UK e-commerce market, we are enthusiastic about using the UK market as a springboard for expanding our global presence.”

Enhancing UK-Türkiye Economic Ties for a New Economic Partnership Era

Karaca’s UK expansion coincides with the flourishing trade relations between the United Kingdom and Türkiye. The UK government has recently initiated a call for contributions to form a new, modernised free trade agreement (FTA) with Türkiye, aiming to replace the existing agreement, rooted in outdated 1990s provisions and confined to goods trading.

The proposed FTA intends to be more comprehensive, including new sectors like technical and digital services, and tech, to aptly meet the 21st-century economic requirements. The trade volume, reaching £26 billion in the year leading up to June 2023, underscores Türkiye’s status as a top 20 trading partner for the UK.

Karaca’s UK market growth mirrors this burgeoning economic relationship. The revised FTA is anticipated to foster more opportunities for Turkish firms to establish and expand in London and throughout the UK, promoting a vibrant business environment and cultural exchange.
