Neapolitan, TripAdvisor’s No.1 ranked Pizza and No.1 ranked Italian restaurant in Liverpool, were recently selected by Real Madrid to prepare authentic pizzas for the club’s first team following their Champions League match against Liverpool FC.
The 45 pizzas were hand stretched, topped, cooked in their wood fired oven at their restaurant on Lime Street and were delivered in just 50 minutes.
Real Madrid’s representatives had approached Neapolitan two weeks before the game, having researched their preparation methods, ingredient selection and cooking technique and selected them ahead of every other Italian restaurant available to them in the Liverpool.
“It was a huge honour to be selected by Real Madrid, who spent weeks preparing for their trip to Liverpool. They are one of the biggest sporting brands in the world, and the feedback we received from them was one of the highlights of our career so far,” said Lorraine, co-owner of Neapolitan.
Neapolitan is owned and run by husband-and-wife team Jamie and Lorraine, whose dedication to true Neapolitan pizza has earned national and international recognition. Jamie was recently invited by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), the official governing body of Neapolitan pizza, to serve as a judge in the UK Pizza Championships, an honour that reflects the restaurant’s reputation for authenticity and excellence.
