With sustainable living now a priority amongst many homebuyers, a recent study has revealed that demand for cavity wall insulation has risen by a staggering 352%, underfloor heating rose by 33% and over 20% of homeowners want a smart meter installed this year.

For those on the hunt to find a home that fulfils their green credentials checklist, The Courtyard by Stonebond is a must-see for sustainable living. Offering an exclusive collection of three and four bedroom homes situated in the historic village of Hatfield Peverel, buyers can select a new home that has been sustainably designed to include and exceed a whole host of energy efficient requirements.

Designed to maximise sustainability, these homes include low energy lighting throughout, dual flush toilets to reduce water consumption and insulated flooring with underfloor heating to the ground floor. Boilers have been selected for energy efficiency and smart meters encourage regular monitoring. Eco-features such as these will save homeowners an average of £550 annually compared to a second-hand home.

The countryside backdrop of The Courtyard sets the scene for a life of peace and rural tranquillity in these delightful homes. Set back from the main road and enriched with surrounding green areas, the contemporary and spacious homes are ideal for first time buyers, second-steppers and families. A collection of varying exteriors create a diverse range of homes all benefitting from floor to ceiling windows and chic shutters.

Annette Cole, Sales & Marketing Director at Stonebond, comments: “We are delighted to launch a collection of exclusive homes in a peaceful countryside setting. The homes have been expertly crafted with a close focus on adaptable designs and sustainability; two crucial considerations for contemporary life. A range of the materials used are from reusable, sustainable or recyclable sources as we know how important being energy-efficient is to many of our customers. Being a small site, The Courtyard will promote a wonderful community atmosphere and the nearby market towns will provide residents with all the conveniences they need and much more”.

The Courtyard demonstrates the wide-ranging benefits of buying a new build home with the inclusion of modern specifications, no unbudgeted costs and no need for expensive renovation projects. Every home at The Courtyard offers carefully considered layouts and exceptional fixtures and furnishings. The sleek addition of Crittall internal glazed screens on the ground floor, allows light to flood throughout the whole house and adds a level of partitioning whilst promoting seamless transitions between rooms.

The kitchen offers integrated Bosch appliances such as a fridge-freezer, dishwasher and wine-cooler, alongside a black glass gas hob and oven. A modern feel is created with LED strip lights under all units and the ground floor is insulated with underfloor heating throughout to maximise comfort. The living areas have been expertly designed to allow residents who work from home to effortlessly slip between professional and home life. Some homes offer a dedicated room which could be transformed into a study, games room or dining area; an easily adaptable space to suit different lifestyles.

All master bedrooms are spacious, offer built-in mirrored wardrobes and have large windows to let in the maximum amount of light. All bathrooms offer white contemporary sanitaryware with chrome brassware, heated towel rails and recessed storage.

With private landscaped gardens residents can enjoy a breath of fresh air in their personal sanctuary. Each home also has a spacious garage and car parking space and across the development 1,000 new shrubs and trees have been planted to encircle the homes in a beautiful green border.

Hatfield Peverel is an attractive neighbourhood full of fascinating history coupled with plenty of conveniences such as local farm shops, bakeries, cafes and a lively village hall. The charming River Ter runs alongside the village, whilst nature walks, recreational grounds and lakes are in abundance. Chelmsford is a 20-minute drive from The Courtyard and offers a wide selection of retail favourites, entertainment facilities and eateries.

For locations further afield, Hatfield Peverel train station is just a five-minute drive or 20-minute walk from The Courtyard and frequent services allows commuters to travel into London St Pancras and Kings Cross in just over an hour. Access to road links couldn’t be easier; the M25 is a 25-minute drive away via the A12, and for jetsetters both Stanstead and Southend airports are approximately 30 minutes away by car.
