InterContinental Hotels Group, or IHG, in known for being one of the leading hotel companies on the market around the world. IHG has released news that they have announced the signing of Hotel Indigo® London – One Leicester Square. The acquisition of this hotel in London is the first hotel that IHG has in Leicester Square. This new presence is great news for the company as Leicester Square is thought to be one of the busiest hubs in London.
The Hotel Indigo® is expected to open later this year and will be able to accommodate guests in 95 rooms. Each of these guests rooms will have a design that reflects the local area, as Leicester Square can be found in the centre of the entertainment and cultural districts of the Capital City. The local area will be reflected in the interior design of the hotel with artistic flair. Using One Leicester Square as a base, guests will be able to explore all that is available In London, with great access to the cinematic and theatrical events in West End.
The hotel will also boast a rooftop bar, perfect for enjoying a drink and taking in the spectacular London Skyline. This bar is expected to be a popular destination in London when it is opened. Also on offer will be rooms that can be booked for meetings as well as gym facilities for the guests to use.
The art deco hotel will be operated through the use of a franchise agreement that has been made between Criterion Capital and IHG. Hotel Indigo® in Leicester Square will IHG’s first venture to take place with the support of a franchise partner.
Hotel Indigo® is one of the boutique brands that is run by IHG. The brand has 75 hotels open and there are 76 hotels in the global pipeline. The brand was first launched in 2004, and has been successful since. The brand has in the pipeline plans to open another Hotel Indigo® in Milan and Dundee next year with hotels in Frankfurt, Manchester and The Hague to follow over the coming years.
