Now that the property market is showing signs of recovery after the financial crisis of 2008, it is the perfect time to ensure that your business has a great digital presence and stays ahead of the online estate agents. With this occasion, Clicky would like to give you a few tips on how to get ahead of the rest.

Mintel carried out a research that found that at least 35% of people head straight to an all-encompassing property site such as Rightmove, followed by 18% who visit individual estate agents’ websites directly. To make sure you stand out from the competition, here are five key things you could do:

    1. Content
To find the right content for you, researching house keywords is the best place to start. This will further influence the theme of your content and guide your business to write topical and relevant information. This will build your brand’s presence and bring people to your website.

    2. Keep on top of property listings
Adding and removing listings as and when necessary should be one of your top priorities. Having an unavailable property on your website will have a negative impact on the user experience, making you look unreliable and people could potentially not want to come back to your website.

    3. PPC advertising
More than 98% of buyers start their property search online, according to Tepilo. Paying for advertising online will help you appear first in search results when consumers look for their local estate agent online. Additionally, you can customise PPC ads to highlight your USP’s and target specific audiences.

    4. Engage ‘dream searchers’
More than one in ten aged 24-54 spend almost an hour searching for their ideal home, so it might be worth looking into this. Facebook provides the perfect platform to engage these searchers in a fun and creative way, while building brand awareness.

    5. Take Insta worthy shots
Instagram is a great way to show off key features in a creative way. More than 1.6 million photographs have been uploaded there with the hashtag #property, so it is definitely something to look into. Businesses can also keep their followers updated with their latest purchases and news by using the Instagram story.
