BEDC Wins Largest Contract After First Year in Operation

BEDC the Hartlepool based firm operates within the small sector of façade designs for buildings. The company has just been awarded a significant £500,000 contract. This is amazing news for BEDC, who have just celebrated their first year in business. The company was first launched by Simon Ayre, now the director of the company. BEDC is based in the UK Steel and Enterprise’s Innovation Centre which is in Hartlepool. Since first being established, the company has since doubled their office space in order to accommodate their 11-strong team of designers and technical experts.

This new contract has been awarded as part of a £10 million project that has been undertaken by a UK organisation operating in the education sector. This contract is BEDC’s biggest contract to date. The company has managed to expand at a significantly faster rate than they first projected, which is great news going forward. To begin with, the company moved into a 400 sq. ft. office in June 2016, but has now expanded into larger premises for their eight full time designers, Technical Manager, Structural Engineer and other staff.

BEDC works in Façade design, a complex area of architectural design and engineering which covers all work on the exterior of a building. The outer shell of a building maintains the correct environment inside as well as offers climate control and links the external designs to the internal, therefore it is a vital part of the development and construction process. This is a niche area of the construction industry, but BEDC appear to be thriving in it. No doubt the company’s success will continue going forward. The company is investing in the training and personal development of their staff which means that they have developed a team that are all enthusiastic and committed to the growth of the company.
