Their location next to Birmingham’s newest trendy suburb is expected to result in competitive bidding for two houses on the same street in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.

Both 842 Pershore Road and 844 Pershore Road in Selly Park need some tender loving care, reflected in each of their guide prices* of £50,000+ in the livestreamed auction on Tuesday 14 December.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive at Bond Wolfe, explained that soaring prices in the neighbouring suburb of Stirchley was likely to drive interest from potential new owners.

Mr Bassi said: “The closer that Pershore Road gets to Stirchley, the more interest we are experiencing from bidders keen to benefit from rising property prices.

“Stirchley has seen an incredible transformation from a pretty mundane suburb into a thriving cultural village with trendy and largely independent bars, bakeries and restaurants.

“Selly Park benefits from being the suburb right next door, plus it is close to a triangle of other attractions that includes the University of Birmingham, Cannon Hill Park and Edgbaston cricket ground.

“All these factors are expected to bring fierce bidding for these two houses that lie next door to each other.”

Both houses are mid-terraced and stand back from the road with gardens front and back.

They also both have two reception rooms, a kitchen and shower room with toilet on the ground floor, a landing and two bedrooms on the first floor and a third bedroom on the second floor.

No 842 has gas central heating and double glazing, but needs refurbishment, while No 844 has double glazing but requires modernisation.

Down in Kings Norton are two more properties on the same street, both being three-bedroomed, semi-detached houses on Peplins Way, each with guide prices of £50,000+.

No 76 has a hall, understairs cupboard, two reception rooms and a kitchen downstairs, with a landing, three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, plus double glazing throughout.

There are gardens and a brick store outside, although the property needs modernisation.

No 103 has a porch, hall, two reception rooms and a kitchen downstairs, with a landing, three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

This property benefits from gas central heating and double glazing, and has a driveway and gardens outside.

Other properties from Birmingham in Bond Wolfe’s auction include a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 95 Knightwick Crescent in Perry Common, which has a guide price of £39,000+.

This property has a hall with access to a cellar, an understairs cupboard, two reception rooms and a kitchen downstairs, and a landing, three bedrooms, a bathroom and separate toilet upstairs.

There are gardens front and back as well as a rear garage and workshop, but the property needs modernisation and refurbishment throughout.

Over in Handsworth is a three-bedroomed, end-terraced house with a rear garden at 2 Babington Road, and this has a guide price of £40,000+.

There is a hall, two reception rooms, a kitchen, inner lobby and bathroom downstairs, and a landing with three bedrooms and a shower room with toilet upstairs, plus gas central heating and double glazing.

The properties are just some of the Birmingham homes that join a total of 156 lots in Bond Wolfe’s next auction, which will start at 9am on Thursday 14 December.
