They may need some tender loving care and attention, but a range of Birmingham properties have attractive starting prices in Bond Wolfe’s livestreamed auction next week.

Leading the way is a three-bedroomed, end-terraced house at 3 Northlands Road in the trendy suburb of Moseley, which will have a guide price* of just £50,000+ in the auction on Thursday 14 September.

This freehold property has front and back gardens and opens up through a storm porch into a hall with understairs cupboard, leading into two reception rooms and kitchen.

There is a landing, three bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, with double glazing throughout.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: “This house is in need of thorough modernisation, reflected by its attractive guide price, but it’s location in Moseley is bound to result in competitive bidding.”

It is a similar story for a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 120 Yarningale Road, in the neighbouring suburb of Kings Heath, where the need for works throughout means a guide price of £49,000+.

This freehold property has a hall, through reception room and kitchen with no fittings downstairs, a landing, three bedrooms plus bathroom upstairs, and driveway and gardens outside.

Refurbishment is also needed for a four-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 17 Woodacre Road across the city in Erdington, with a guide price of £49,000+.

This freehold property stands back from the road with front and back gardens, plus the potential to add rear access for vehicles via a service road, subject to planning permission.

There is a porch, hall with understairs cupboard, two reception rooms, kitchen and covered side passageway on the ground floor, and then a landing, three bedrooms, bathroom and toilet upstairs.

There is another bedroom on the second floor and the property has partial double glazing and gas central heating.

Mr Bassi said: “These properties would be ideal for first-time buyers with DIY skills or for landlords looking to invest in increasing the size of their portfolios.”

Back across the city at 182 Reservoir Road in Selly Oak, close to both Birmingham University and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, is a two-bedroomed, semi-detached house with a guide price of £49,000+.

This freehold property has a hall, two reception rooms, kitchen and covered side passageway downstairs, with a landing, two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.

Benefits include gas central heating and double glazing, with gardens and driveway parking outside.

In the auction at 3 Garden Grove in Handsworth Wood is a three-bedroomed, detached house with a guide price of £50,000+.

This freehold property has a hall, understairs cupboard, two reception rooms and kitchen downstairs, plus a landing, three bedrooms and bathroom upstairs.

Benefits include gas central heating system and double glazing, with front and back gardens and garage outside.

Over at 45 Perry Wood Road in Great Barr is a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house with a guide price of £69,000+.

This freehold property starts downstairs with a hall and understairs store, a through reception room and kitchen, while upstairs is a landing, three bedrooms and bathroom.

Benefits include gas central heating and double glazing, with gardens and rear brick store, rear garage and driveway parking outside.

Close to Birmingham Airport is a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 196 Elmay Road with a guide price of £89,000+.

This freehold property has a porch, hall, two reception rooms, kitchen, rear lean-to with toilet, utility area and conservatory downstairs, with a landing, three bedrooms plus shower room and toilet upstairs.

Benefits include gas central heating and partial double glazing, with front and back gardens, driveway parking and rear garage outside.

At the other end of the scale is a three-bedroomed, mid-terraced house at 93 Northfield Road in the much sought-after suburb of Harborne, with a guide price of £250,000+.

There is a small parking space outside, and the ground floor has a front reception room, inner hallway, rear reception room and extended breakfast kitchen.

On the first floor is a landing, two bedrooms and bathroom, while the second floor has a bedroom with en suite shower and toilet, plus storage area.

A new boiler provides gas central heating and there is partial double glazing, while outside are front and back gardens plus two single garages.

Mr Bassi added: “There is something for everyone at our auctions, from doer-uppers with attractive guide prices to more finished properties ready to move into.”

The Birmingham properties are among a total of 180 lots that are appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction, which will start at 9am on Thursday 14 September.
