Fixer-Upper Property Priced at £15,000: Fire Damage and Abundance of Clutter Await New Owner

An opportunity has emerged to purchase a property for a mere £15,000, but prospective buyers must be prepared to address both fire damage and a substantial clutter challenge to transform it into a habitable space.

While the exterior of the three-bedroom residence presents a slightly weathered appearance, the interior tells a markedly different story, with each room burdened by heaps of discarded items and refuse.

To compound matters, evident fire damage has affected the house.

Positioned on Laycock Street in Cleveland, Middlesborough, this mid-terrace dwelling is situated within an area where typical home prices hover around £62,000. As such, it could be a lucrative prospect for an adept do-it-yourself purchaser.

One of the initial photographs showcases what seems to be the living room, overrun by discarded garments, a refrigerator, and a printer.

Within this living space, an unsanitary mattress takes center stage, surrounded by an assortment of debris and clutter. The source of this mess is revealed in other images, showing a collapsed ceiling.

Moving on, the bathroom is marred by grime and filth, with an abandoned ironing board occupying the bathtub.

The upper floor exposes the aftermath of the fire, as the stairs remain exposed to the elements and walls bear telltale signs of smoke and soot damage.

Describing the property, the advertisement states, “This three-bedroom mid-terrace house spans ground and first floors and necessitates a comprehensive refurbishment effort. Positioned on a residential avenue, the property enjoys proximity to local shops and amenities, with the expansive Albert Park within easy reach. Middlesbrough rail station caters to transportation needs.”

Scheduled for public auction on September 13th, 2023, at 8:45 AM, this property presents a unique opportunity for those with the vision and determination to undertake a substantial restoration project.
