Lendlease partner Roomservice by Cort – The UK’s largest furniture rental business, Roomservice by CORT, has begun a new partnership with build to rent operator Living by Lendlease through which it will supply high quality rental furniture to their first build to rent communities in the UK, offering a convenient and sustainable solution for residents.

Roomservice by CORT has already installed its flexible furnishing packages in over 300 apartments and furnished a number of show homes at Park Central West and Park Central East. These newly launched communities are located at Lendlease’s flagship urban regeneration development in the iconic Elephant & Castle neighbourhood,

Lendlease partner Roomservice by Cort: Stephanie Barbabosa, Head of Build to Rent at Lendlease, comments:

“Partnering with Roomservice by CORT in the UK was an obvious choice. The flexibility of the furniture packages coupled with their quality allow us to meet our residents’ needs without the capital commitment of purchasing it outright. And with our mutual commitments to sustainability, we are pleased that they provide sustainably sourced materials, which at the end of useful life will participate in the circular economy. It helps avoid the issues of storing or disposing of furniture that is not required, and prevents unwanted furniture ending up in landfill – something that is extremely attractive to today’s eco-conscious renter. Our residents are used to choice and quality, but also want the convenience of being able to settle straight in to their apartment, so the service offered by Roomservice by CORT provides an efficient and practical solution.”

As part of CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, Roomservice by CORT has over 35 years’ experience in providing furnishing solutions carefully tailored to meet the specific needs of their clients. Roomservice by CORT provides full management of furniture including replacing or repairing any damaged items, so furniture can be used where it is needed and refurbished if required, minimising waste which is better environmentally.

Roomservice by CORT worked closely with the Living by Lendlease team to design and source contemporary high-quality furniture packages to appeal to renters who are choosing to live in the vibrant urban hub of Elephant and Castle. Roomservice has over 300 furniture lines to choose from ranging from large items, kitchenware, appliances, soft furnishings and accessories, so they were able to put together a set of bespoke packages designed to meet the needs and lifestyles of the residents.

Park Central West and Park Central East are the first collection of rental homes to be managed by the newly launched management platform Living by Lendlease.

Ken Ebenezer, Managing Director of Roomservice by CORT, comments: “This exciting partnership with Living by Lendlease demonstrates the benefits and flexibility of our furniture rental solutions in build to rent schemes at scale, and incorporates a high level of furniture and logistical management. We know that people are becoming more used to renting the things they need rather than owning them and, as an extension to the build to rent lifestyle, renting furniture fits perfectly. It avoids the financial outlay for both the resident and the landlord of buying new furniture for what might only be a temporary need, while ensuring residents get to enjoy stylish, contemporary furnishings that suit the quality and feel of the development.”
