ISS Facility Services has achieved ‘Highly Commended’ status for the 2015 Jaguar Land Rover Inspiring Young Talent Award at the Business in the Community (BITC) Annual Responsible Business Gala.

The Award recognises businesses that are supporting young people in their journey from education into successful working lives. ISS received the Commendation for its five-stage Youth Employability strategy to inform, inspire, guide, recruit and develop young people.

The ISS programme is designed to bring the young closer to the labour market and provide them with essential employability skills. As a result, this integrated approach has supported over 2,000 young people aged 16-24 with various levels of skills development and work opportunities.

As a service provider working with clients across all work environments, ISS provides its Youth Employability participants with an understanding of different workplaces, sectors and roles at both ISS and client sites.

Richard Sykes, CEO, ISS UK and Ireland commented:

“This award is a wonderful testament to the importance of what we in the business world can do to support our young people. It’s a great accolade to the work that all of our people at ISS have put into supporting our future generations. Not only do we ensure the future for our youth, we also ensure the future for our sector. This programme helps us to bring new talent to the facilities management service sector, whilst providing essential workplace experience.”

“The award complements our corporate partnership with the Prince’s Trust. We look forward to continuing our work alongside BITC, our clients and other partners.”

The event held at the Royal Albert Hall on the 7th July was the culmination of the 2015 Responsible Business Awards, run by The Prince of Wales’s business charity Business in the Community, to celebrate innovative ways that businesses in the UK and abroad are addressing pressing social and environmental issues and transforming communities.
