The new and varied applications of 360 tours

Already a hit with estate and letting agents, who use them to sell and let properties faster and more efficiently, 360 tours are now being used in new and exciting ways by other sectors. One example is the use of Made Snappy’s 360 tours by SSG Training and Consultancy Limited. The company has created a virtual tool for use as part of its online health and safety training.

Known for its thorough and engaging training courses, SSG Training and Consultancy already uses video, animation and gamification to deliver its training. Now, the company has added a virtual tour to its portfolio of training resources.

“Our training portfolio has grown over recent years to include both online and classroom-based delivery,” comments SSG’s Development Director, Denise Maclean. “We enhance our delivery using a wide range of resources and will soon be incorporating a virtual tour undertaken by Made Snappy to some of our construction-specific courses. We were in the process of reviewing a particular course and felt this would provide an excellent solution for online courses, and where delegates were unable to gain access to a scaffold tower in person.”

The tour covers a scaffold structure built within one of SSG’s training facilities. It allows users to explore the scaffolding, ascending to the first and second levels and observing the surrounding area in sufficient detail to read health and safety posters and other site notices. In total, the scaffolding includes 30 faults, which users of the virtual tool can identify as part of their training.

The 360 tour was easy to create, with a quick photoshoot and a simple process in place. SSG is now ready to roll out the 360 tour as part of its scaffolding health and safety training. Positive feedback has already been received from tutors and the SSG team is excited about the future potential of 360 tools. Denise Maclean Development Director concludes:

“I’m sure if this resource is well received by all parties – delegates and tutors – then we will look to include further 360 tours for other courses.”
