National housebuilder Bellway is celebrating success in the prestigious Pride in the Job Awards, with 47 of its site managers receiving a coveted Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

The prestigious annual awards recognise exceptional site managers who achieve the highest standards in construction, with the winners being chosen from thousands of entrants from across the UK.

Bellway’s site managers represented more than 10 per cent of the 450 Quality Award winners selected from a pool of more than 8,000 candidates whose developments have been inspected by the NHBC over the past year.

This continues last year’s success, when 45 Bellway site managers received the accolade.

James Griffin, Group Construction Director for Bellway, said: “Bellway has built a reputation as a highly respected housebuilder producing award-winning and high-quality homes.

“Our unwavering commitment to customers is built on a solid foundation thanks to the incredible effort put in by our site managers day in day out, on developments across England, Scotland and Wales.

“As well as building homes to the highest standards, our site managers are also implementing our Better with Bellway sustainability strategy, which outlines our commitments to people and the planet. Quality and service are at the core of everything we do here. These well-deserved awards are proof of how seriously we take that commitment.

“The NHBC Pride in the Job awards have been running for more than four decades and are rightly considered to be the ultimate accolade for site managers. After our success last year, we are once again delighted with this achievement. It is just reward for all the hard work, dedication and attention to detail that these consummate professionals put in to lead their site teams.

“I would like to congratulate all 47 of our winners and wish them all the best for the next stage of the judging.”

Building quality homes safely is a key benchmark under Bellway’s Better with Bellway strategy. Greater collaboration and information-sharing between site teams and via Bellway’s internal communications platform Pathway has helped to drive continuous improvement in standards, which has been instrumental to success in the Pride in the Job Awards in 2024 and now this year.

The Quality Award winners will automatically be put forward to the next stage of the competition – the NHBC’s Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards, which will be announced in the autumn.

Pride in the Job has been running for 44 years and is widely recognised as the most prestigious accolade that a site manager can receive. The judging process involves a series of spot checks on the day-to-day running of the site, with site managers being assessed on a wide range of aspects of their work including attention to detail, leadership, technical expertise and health and safety.
