Weaver Vale Housing Trust (WVHT) has supported Crucial Crew, a national education safety initiative, by delivering anti-social behaviour (ASB) workshops to Year Six pupils in Cheshire.
Crucial Crew offers interactive, scenario-based workshops to local primary schools, teaching children how to stay safe and respond appropriately to real-life situations. The programme brings together a wide range of agencies to provide engaging and informative learning experiences.
Schools from across the Cheshire area took part in the ASB session, with contributing organisations including Cheshire Magistrates, SP Energy Networks, Cheshire West and Chester Council, CWP NHS Foundation Trust, and Cheshire Police.
“Being part of Crucial Crew this week has been an excellent opportunity to work with partners and engage directly with young people from 20 primary schools across our neighbourhoods,” said Lindsay Farini, Tenancy Enforcement Officer at WVHT.
“It was encouraging to see the children thinking about how their behaviour can affect others and how they can contribute to safer, stronger communities. Working alongside other local agencies means we can deliver consistent messages about safety and behaviour that resonate with the pupils.”
Kevin Hanson, Neighbourhood Experience Team Leader at WVHT, added:
“The aim of the week is for agencies to offer fun and informative sessions to local primary schools to keep children healthy, safe, and well in their local communities.
“For the Trust, we want to pass on the message to these young people about what anti-social behaviour is, how it can impact people, and what the consequences might be if people get involved.
“The pupils have been really engaged and interested during the sessions, and our team has also enjoyed the opportunity to teach young people about the potential consequences of anti-social behaviour.”
