Norrsken has partnered with NBS to make its range of high-performance aluminium-clad timber windows and doors available on NBS Source, giving UK architects easier access to specification-ready data for passive house certified products.
The partnership provides architects, specifiers and designers with free access to technical specifications, CAD files and product information for nine of Norrsken’s most widely specified products. These resources are now available on NBS Source, which is used by more than 5,000 architecture and engineering practices across the UK.
BIM objects for the full product range will be introduced progressively over the next six weeks, supplied in both Revit and IFC formats. Each product will be available with a choice of opening types and either timber or aluminium-clad construction.
NBS Source allows users to search and compare more than 26,000 construction products, with seamless integration into NBS Chorus and plugins for Revit, ArchiCAD and Vectorworks. Norrsken’s listings include comprehensive technical performance data covering three passive house certified window ranges and six door ranges, all manufactured to order and capable of achieving U-values as low as 0.64 W/m²K.
“Architects need reliable partners who understand the technical demands of modern, low-energy building design,” said Alex Alsop, sales director at Norrsken.
“By joining NBS Source, we’re streamlining workflows for architect practices of all sizes and making it easier for specifiers to access the detailed product information they need at the earliest stages of a project. This partnership reinforces our commitment to supporting architects with award-winning service from manufacture through to installation and aftercare.”
The BIM objects have been developed to reflect Norrsken’s made-to-measure approach, with options including tilt-and-turn windows, oversized sliding doors up to 8,500mm, French doors with additional glazing elements, and entrance doors in a range of styles.
Each product can be specified in timber or aluminium-clad finishes, with a full RAL colour palette available, along with project-specific hardware selections. All BIM content is authored to NBS standards and includes CAWS and Uniclass 2015 classifications, ensuring smooth integration into standard UK specification workflows.
Manufacturing of Norrsken’s aluminium-clad timber windows and doors takes place at a specialist facility operated by Viking Window AS in Estonia, while UK-based technical support and installation services are delivered from Poole. The company specialises in passive house and low-energy residential construction, providing a complete service from initial survey through to installation, supported by single-point project accountability.
