Residents have moved into the final homes at a new Bellway Homes Rochford development.

Housebuilder Bellway has handed over the keys to the last three properties at Eastbury Park following the completion of construction of work at the 112-home site off Hall Road earlier this year.

All of the homes available for private sale have now been purchased, while the properties provided as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership have also been occupied.

The development, which is part of a wider 495-home scheme being delivered at the western edge of the town, comprises a mix of detached and semi-detached houses including a range of two to five-bedroom properties.

The last three properties to be sold at Eastbury Park were all five-bedroom, three-storey detached houses.

Emma Hamlett, Sales Director for Bellway Thames Gateway, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the purchasers of the final homes at Eastbury Park into their homes, marking the completion of this brand-new residential neighbourhood on the edge of Rochford.

“We are confident that the mix of people who bought homes at Eastbury Park will help to create a diverse and family friendly community.

“The pandemic has made people reassess their priorities when it comes to looking for a new home, with access to open space now high on many housebuyers’ wishlists. Eastbury Park’s attractive rural setting was therefore particularly appealing to those seeking a more relaxed way of life.

“The development has also proved popular with commuters as it is less than a mile from Rochford railway station which has direct services to London in just over 50 minutes.”

Bellway Thames Gateway is also about to start work on 178 new homes at a new development in Fobbing, near Basildon.

Maple Creek will feature a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses, and one and two-bedroom apartments on a 24.2-acre site off High Road.

The development, which received planning permission from Thurrock Council in January, will be built on the derelict former Vange Water Works site, which was most recently used for commercial storage.
