New Data Shows London’s Top Selling Points

The online home buying company We Buy Any Home has recently carried out a research that looked into the key selling points of 26 UK cities to find out which one offers the best conditions for sellers to get a good price, whilst also being the most wanted by buyers.

London was ranked 15th in the Index because of its mixed results, proving that there are a lot of areas that need improving. The city excelled in education where it finished first in terms of the number of outstanding rated OFSTED existing schools and it also came on top of the list for the average wage paid (£35,072), which is £10,000 higher than the national average.

However, being the largest city in the country also comes with its downfalls. Higher crime rates and house prices were some of the criteria that brought London to its 15th place.

“We wanted to make our index as comprehensive as possible and took into consideration a variety of factors that really matter to both buyers and sellers. London scored very well in some areas and struggled in others, but overall offers a good quality of living in several areas. The capital has been a popular region for property, and it looks like this trend is likely to continue,” commented Elliot Castle, founder and CEO at We Buy Any Home.

The key data sets that the research looked into are the average wages, the number of outstanding rated OFSTED schools, employment rate, the A&E target ratings of the local NHS Trust, average sale time, burglary rate, and average house prices. From all of these sets, London came last on the average house price, which the research found to be £743,953.
