Story from Jam Press (Church For Sale) Pictured: Outside the church. Remote detached church on market for just £50,000 A remote detached church has hit the market for just £50,000. Estate agents have suggested the new buyer could convert the place of worship into a cinema or a museum. The church is situated in a small village called Ardfern on the Craignish peninsula in Argyll, Scotland. The isolated property overlooks the Loch Craignish and surrounding woodlands. Inside, the property still includes rows of pews and an altar. The choir loft is still intact, with rows of wooden benches still inside the property. It comes with a small vestry – a room that is attached to a church, used as an office and for priests to change into ceremonial vestments. In total, the property measures 2659sq ft. The listing suggests the space can be converted into an entertainment space. However, estate agents are not sure if it can be turned into a residential accommodation. The property comes with the surrounding grounds. Although it only costs £50,000, the new tenant will want to give their new property a makeover. Inside, the paint on the walls is peelings and it is in need of modernisation. It is being sold by The Church of Scotland and advertised on Rightmove. The listing reads: “The subjects are B-Listed and could be used, without the necessity of obtaining change of use consent, as a crèche, day nursery, day centre, educational establishment, museum, art gallery or public library. ”It also has potential for a variety of other uses, such as a theatre, cinema or entertainment venue, retail space or community resource subject to obtaining appropriate consents. ”Conversion to residential accommodation might also be possible, again subject to the usual consents.” ENDS

An isolated church, detached and remote, is currently on the market for a mere £50,000.

Real estate agents have proposed that the new owner could transform this religious building into a cinema or a museum.

Located in Ardfern, a quaint village on the Craignish peninsula in Argyll, Scotland, the church enjoys a solitary setting.

The property boasts a picturesque view of Loch Craignish and the adjacent woodlands.

Internally, the church still features its original rows of pews and an altar.

The choir loft remains preserved, complete with its wooden benches, still residing within the building.

Included in the sale is a small vestry – a room linked to the church, traditionally used as an office and for clergy to don their ceremonial robes.

The property spans an area of 2659sq ft in total.

The sales listing indicates that the space is suitable for transformation into a leisure venue.

However, real estate agents are uncertain about its potential conversion into a residential space.

The sale includes the land surrounding the church.

Despite its low price of £50,000, prospective buyers should anticipate renovating the property.

The interior requires attention, with peeling paint on the walls and a general need for modernisation.

The Church of Scotland is handling the sale, and the property is listed on Rightmove.

The listing details: “The subjects are B-Listed and are eligible for use, without the need for change of use consent, as a crèche, day nursery, day centre, educational establishment, museum, art gallery or public library.

“It also holds prospects for various other uses, like a theatre, cinema, or entertainment venue, retail area, or community facility, pending the appropriate consents.

“Additionally, converting it to a residential dwelling might be feasible, again subject to obtaining the necessary consents.”
