Michelin-starred restaurant delivery service to launch

Supper, a new service that will deliver Michelin-star food, is to launch this September.

Nineteen restaurants within London have already joined the scheme, including Tamarind and Benares in Mayfair.

Supper aims to have at least five other Michelin-starred restaurants involved by the autumn.

Also participating are the M Restaurant group, Japanese restaurants Matsuri and Tsunami, Mayfair pizzeria Bocconcino, Soho seafood restaurant Randall and Aubin, and Soho-based Chinese sites Barshu, Bashan and Baiwei.

Alongside delivering good food, Supper’s main aim is to ensure that the dishes arrive at the customer’s door in the condition in which they left the restaurant. Supper maintains that this will be achieved through the use of “revolutionary” bikes from Japan and specially-made, thermal-lined boxes that keep the food at a constant temperature and stop the food quality from degrading during delivery.

Drivers will be smartly dressed in Supper-branded uniforms, and each bike will be able to deliver up to 20 covers’ worth of food.

The company will also offer a wine list, plus Prosecco and Champagne options, as well as pairing recommendations for each dish.

The service was founded by former financial trader Peter Georgiou, who spent time living and working in New York. He set up the company after returning to London and finding there was no high-end delivery service of the kind that he had come to expect in the States.
